Bike to the Beach 2014

Bike to the Beach ( is a non-profit organization that has partnered with Autism Speaks and at multiple times throughout the year they host a bike ride to a local beach. Since Washington, DC doesn't have many "local" beaches, this means riders peddle their way to Dewey Beach, Delaware. This is a 100 mile trek that winds through the streets of DC, heads through Annapolis before hopping a bus across the bay bridge, passes rural farms in Delaware, and finishes at the beach.

I was honored to be asked to capture more than 500 dedicated riders who pledged to make this full day excursion. We set off from DC at 5:00am and the first riders crossed the finish line around 11:00am. I was amazed at the turnout and the dedication of these brave riders. I tried to capture each of the riders as they rode past me and have posted many of the images ( I've also posted a few of my favorites below. Enjoy!
